The activation code is required to enable the AviatorCalc
flight planning software. It is automatically sent by e-mail to the e-mail
address you supplied in the Activation Code Request form. There are
several reasons why you may not have received the e-mail with the activation code
from us.
- You have supplied an invalid e-mail address.
- Your mail box is full.
- Your internet service provider has rejected the e-mail as spam.
You
must enter a valid email address to receive the code. If an invalid e-mail
address was entered then you won't receive the code.
You should normally receive the e-mail with the Activation Code
within a few minutes depending upon your
internet service provider. If you do not receive your activation code then
please wait at least an hour to see if it arrives.
If you do not receive the
e-mail then please either fill in the Online Form
available in the Contact drop down menu above or e-mail us through the Contact
page. We will e-mail your activation code to the e-mail address you supply in
the form or e-mail.
If your provider is using anti-spam software such as NIDS and expects
a manual confirmation of the sender then regretfully we will be unable
to comply as this is an automated service. You will either have to ask
your provider to
white list
aviatorcalc.com or use an alternative e-mail
address and re-request the activation code.
We monitor all e-mails sent from our system and if we receive
notification that the e-mail was rejected we manually resend this via a
special hotmail account. If this also fails then we can do little but
wait until you contact us via the the Online Form.
First of all let us assure you that your payment is perfectly safe. It will
not be touched by us for at least two months. It is has
been independently recorded in the
PayPal system and you should
have received a e-mail directly from them confirming that the payment has been
made. Please first look at the possible reasons why you didn't receive the
e-mail with the activation code in the above article.
If you still have problems receiving the activation code and download
page then please contact us directly using the Online Form
available in the Contact drop down menu above. Please supply the
following information.
- Your name and e-mail address.
- The approximate date you made the payment.
- An alternative e-mail address we can contact you at.
- A telephone number and your time zone so that we can contact you
if alternative e-mail fails.
Please note that we will only contact you via telephone if you have
made a payment. We will not do this for problems with the download of
any free demonstration software.
For the Crosswind Demonstration you enter the Activation Code via the
Activation Code Menu. For AviatorCalc you must enter it via
the Aircraft Database program. Select Activation code in the main menu. Do not
forget to save the activation code.
Assuming that your activation code is correct (Check your e-mail from us)
then almost certainly you are forgetting to save it after entry. Press the Save
button after entering the code. If you need more help then please contact us through the contact
page.
Here are the step by step instructions for the Crosswind demo.
| |
1) Launch the crosswind demo.
2) Select Activation Code from the menu.
3) If any code such as '0' is already displayed in the Activation Code text box then
delete it.
4) Key in the Activation code that you received by email in the
Activation code text box.
5) Press the "Save" button. A message "Activation code and font
choice saved" should appear.
6) Press the "Back" button.
7) Select Crosswind from the menu. |
The Crosswind demo should now be working.
The above procedure is the same for the full product except that the
Activation Code is entered via the Activation & Setup menu in the Aircraft Database program.
This is a security permissions error: If you get such an error message then it means that you
have to configure Java Application Security Settings to allow file system
access.
We provide example settings for Nokia 6230i :
Go to Applications -> Collection -> Xwind Demo -> Options ->
Application access -> phone access ->Add and edit data. Change from "Not
Allowed" to "Always Allowed" (or similar). If your
device says "Not allowed for this application" try "Ask each time". This also
has to be done for the full AviatorCalc product. If you still have
difficulty then please contact technical support.
Go to the Lost Activation Code page>>. You
will be asked to enter your e-mail address that you used at the time of
download.
To do this go to the Upgrade Request Form. You
will be asked to enter your e-mail address that you used at the time of
download. You will also be taken to the correct download page to re-install the
software.
If this is purely an operational problem then please refer to the User Guide.
This can be downloaded from the Download menu above. If it is any other issue
then take up contact with support through Contact page.
To open and use the User Guide you must first download and install Adobe
Acrobat Reader at http://www.adobe.com/.
You will then be able to open the User Guide by double clicking on it. The User
Guide can be downloaded via the Download menu above.
There are two possible causes. Either your browser settings are not correct
or the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) maximum download size is to small.
Browser settings
In the Options --> Advanced Options (Wrench Icon) -->Browser: Make
default Browser 'Internet Browser'
-Load browser>browser options>Cache Operations: Clear all the Cache.
Blackberry Enterprise Server settings
You have reached the maximum amount of data which can be transferred by
the BlackBerry device over a single connection. By default, the
BlackBerry Enterprise Server (BES) limits the response size of a single
HTTP response to 128K. AviatorCalc requires 256 Kilobyte. Contact your
system administrator to increase this limit.
To configure this setting, the system administrator should perform the
following steps on the BlackBerry Enterprise Server:
For BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.0
1) Open BlackBerry Manager.
2) Right click on the server name and click on Mobile Data Service
Properties.
3) In the General tab, under Flow Control, increase the Max
KB/Connection value.
For BlackBerry Enterprise Server software version 4.1
1) Open BlackBerry Manager.
2) Highlight the server name and click on the Connection Service tab.
3) Click the Edit properties option.
4) In the General property, under Flow Control, increase the Maximum
KB/Connection value.
Note: The maximum KB/Connection value is 1024.
It may not be possible to AviatorCalc install using Jbed which is the built in Java Runtime Engine for Windows Mobile 6.1.
You may see the following message: Installation
Failed errno=910 Application Authorization failure. There are known
issues with the built in version of Jbed on Windows Mobile. Download and install
Esmertec
Jbed minimum version 20090506.2.1. AviatorCalc will run fine with this version
of Jbed and has been tested on an HTC
Touch Diamond 2.
You can download Jbed from
http://www.mediafire.com/?o32mket02ne or search the internet for
other downloads.

This is a known problem with the touch screen of the BlackBerry Storm.
This problem has been cured in AviatorCalc version 3.4 onwards which now
provides an extra menu option to choose the waypoint. To do this go to the Upgrade Request Form. You
will be asked to enter your e-mail address that you used at the time of the
original
download. You will also be provided with a link to download the latest
AviatorCalc software. See also Upgrade Notes.
After downloading AviatorCalc software on a Windows Mobile system, clicking
on the AviatorCalc icon causes the software to keep re-installing itself. This
problem is not specific to AviatorCalc but is a general problem with Java
applications on Windows Mobile.
To overcome this problem it is necessary to first create a shortcut
to the the AviatorCalc application. There are a number of ways to do
this but the easiest solution is to use the Windows Mobile File
Explorer. Start the File Explorer from the main menu of Windows mobile.
Locate the Esmertec Jbed Application. You should see the AviatorCalc
icon. Tap and hold on it, and select "copy". Then, go to
\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\, tap and hold, then "paste as shortcut".
Tapping on the newly created shortcut should run the AviatorCalc
software normally.
For alternative methods or specialist software for creating
shortcuts, please search the internet.
If the font size is too small on phones with Windows Mobile and
Esmertec Jbed runtime it can be adjusted in the Windows Mobile System
registry. Click here for further information on how to set this.
